This Weeks Piece

Well, I am finally back to having my weekends at home again.

This weekend I finished off this tunic top.

the darker purple was an old pair of trousers that I have not worn for years.  The material was not ideal as it had Lycra in it so stretched about a lot.

I did not have enough to make the band at the back, so I just adapted the pattern.

It was my first ever project with long sleeves and I have to admit that I am pretty pleased with it. 

I Am Back

After a few weekends away and a generally busy time, I have now landed back into mu normal world again!

I have 2 immediate projects, one is a tunic style top that needs finishing, and the other is my attempt at a shirt!

I hope to get some much needed quality time on the machine Saturday so will post photos of my progress!

My New Sewing Machine

Well, after years of working with machines almost 20 years old, I had a massive motor explosion and decided to bite the bullet and go for a new fangled machine!

I hope to post up photos of my projects here for you all to see! 

I went hrough Sewing Machines Direct and got myself a Janome 8077 which came with a selection of free goodies!

Within 10 minutes of it arriving I was up and running and feel totally in love!

I spent the rest of the weekend making the following dress, which was my first atempt at a dress!  I was a little disapppointed with the loose neck but i was so happy to actually finish it!  the material was a one off buy, so I hope that I will wear it!!!

I also need to master the invisible zip!!!!!!

With the little left over fabric I made a rolling tobacco pouch for a mate.
